With the deluge of rain that hit most of Victoria yesterday one positive that comes from it is seeing some of the waterfalls in the area and the sheer volumes of water are impressive. Regional Council wants commercial rates for Air BNB homes – The region’s councils are yet to decide if they will back a scheme that would impose high rates on property owners that list their homes on short stay accommodation sites. The proposal is contained in a City of Greater Bendigo motion before the Municipal Association of Victoria state council meeting.

If successful, the motion would see the state’s peak council lobby ask the state movement to implement the changes.

We’ll be watching with Interest at the results here given the volume of Holiday Rentals in Lorne, one positive that would come out of this could be the welcome addition of some permanent rentals for the town.
